PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1552 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON INITIATING AN ORDINANCE <br />AMENDMENT FILED UNDER RZ-77-9 RELATING TO HOT <br />TUBS. <br />WHEREAS, the City has become aware that hot tubs are becoming in- <br />creasingly popular in Pleasanton, and that appropriate <br />regulations governing their location in rear yards have not <br />been properly addressed in the Ordinance Code of the City; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City proposes to clarify hot tubs in the Ordinance <br />because up to the present time, it has been classified with <br />swimming pools; and <br />WHEREAS, the City feels that hot tubs would better be classified as <br />accessory structures from a siting standpoint; and <br />WHEREAS, a public hearing before the Planning Commission was held on <br />August 10, 1977, to review this proposal. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Planning Commission initiates an ordinance amendment <br />filed under RZ-77-9, which would more appropriately address <br />the question of hot tubs from a siting standpoint in rear <br />yards. <br />Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately upon <br />its passage and adoption. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton <br />on the 10th day of August, 1977, by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Doherty, Jamieson, Shepherd, Wood and <br />Chairman Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />ATTEST: Secretary Harris <br />
