PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Pleasanton, California <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1249 <br />A resolution of the Planning Commission of <br />the City of Pleasanton recommending to the <br />City Council the approval of Ordinance Amend- <br />ment pertaining to temporary signs. <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of <br />Pleasanton has reviewed an amendment to <br />Section 2-9.40, Article 18, Chapter 2, <br />Title II of the Ordinance Code of the <br />City of Pleasanton, and, <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of <br />Pleasanton has held a public hearing on <br />this matter and has reviewed pertinent maps, <br />drawings and documents. <br />NOW, ,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission of <br />the City of Pleasanton hereby recommends <br />said amendment to read as follows: <br />§209.40 (Exempt Signs), Article 18, Chapter <br />2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the <br />City of Pleasanton is hereby amended by <br />an amendment to subsection (e) and the <br />addition of subsection (j), said changes to <br />read as follows: <br />§2-9.40 Exempt Signs. The following <br />signs are not subject to the regula- <br />tions of this article: <br />e. Temporary signs, banners, or displays <br />of an emergency, patriotic, religious, <br />civic, or community nature, provided <br />they are removed within seven (7) <br />days following the event to which <br />they pertain. <br />j. Signs dealing with candidates for <br />political office, so long as those <br />signs are not erected on public <br />property or public rights-of-way <br />and are placed on private property <br />only with the owner's approval. Said <br />political signs shall not be erected <br />any sooner than the last day of <br />filing nomination papers for the <br />election to which they pertain and <br />
