CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 86-271 <br /> <br /> REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT TO THE VALLEY TIMES <br /> FOR PUBLICATION OF LEGAL NOTICES FOR 1986-87 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City prepared specifications for publication of <br /> legal notices; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Public Contracts Code Section 20169, et <br /> seq., the City advertised for bids regarding this <br /> project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, bids from the Tri-Valley Herald and the Valley Times <br /> were reviewed by the City Council on June 17, 1986; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Tri-Valley Herald has been determined not to be a <br /> newspaper of general circulation and is therefore <br /> ineligible to bid; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Assistant to the City Manager recommended that the <br /> bid of the Valley Times be accepted; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The bid of the Valley Times for publication of the <br /> legal notices for 1986-87 is hereby accepted by the City <br /> Council. <br /> <br />Section 2: The Mayor is authorized to execute a contract with <br /> the Valley Times for publication of the City's legal <br /> notices. <br /> <br />Section 3: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> <br />
