2.1.2
PEDESTRIAN & BICYCLE CIRCULATION
Entrx Points
Entry points would be designated by specialty landscaping, signage and
architectural features such as columns, pedestrian scale lighting, and site
furniture where appropriate.
Pedestrian Circulation
The pedestrian circulation through the Community Park is intended to
provide a perimeter and interior path system that would allow park
users to circulate the space in a continuous loop. The path system
would extend into and around the Open Meadow as well as the Open
Turf/Informal Play Area, then along Stoneridge Drive, and back to the
Community Park parking lot via the Regional Multi-Use Trail. This system
of walking paths would provide convenient access to the neighborhood
park as well as the proposed ice arena.
Paved
Central Promenade
The wide, tree-lined walking path designated as the `Central
Promenade' is meant to act as the major pedestrian
arterial from the Neighborhood Park to the plaza area in
the Community Park. This path would be paved, providing
park users the opportunity to move through the park on an
accessible surface.
