Landscaping
The park entry drive would be lined with street trees and would
run parallel to the Arroyo Mocho. The landscaping would serve to
soften the fa4ade of the ice arena, delineate the roadway, and create
an enjoyable entry experience to the park. The entry feature and
monument area would feature large trees, a substantial planting zone
and an attractive sign.
Parkina
Parking for the Community Park would be located on the east side of the
proposed ice arena, at the end of the park's access drive. This paved lot
would provide convenient access to the park's plaza, restroom, children's
playground, picnic areas, bicycle kiosk, and trail head staging area. The
parking lot would be designated for Community Park users only, and is
not intended to provide parking for the ice arena. The current design
provides for 36 spaces, including parking spaces for the disabled. During
final design, the number of spaces could increase or decrease slightly to
accommodate the needs of the park and the constraints of the site.
Landscaping
Careful attention would be paid to landscaping the Community Park
parking lot in a way that creates an aesthetically pleasing environment,
while also cooling the surface and providing shade for parked vehicles.
It is also intended that the landscaping add supplemental softening
of the facade of the proposed ice arena, immediately adjacent to the
parking lot.
Bus Stomas
The Staples Ranch Community Park Master Plan provides for two transit
stops on Stoneridge Drive. Each transit stop could feature a bus shelter,
pull-out area for the buses, and convenient and safe pedestrian access
to and from the park.
