AGREEMENT THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this , 1986, by and between the CITY OF PLEASANTON, a municipal corporation of the State of California, hereinafter called the *CITY* and TJKIVl, a California Corporation, hereinafter call the *ENGINEER.* WITNESSETH: WHEREAS, the CITY desires to contract for certain engineering work to include the design of a new traffic signal interconnect system on First Street and Stanley Boulevard along with the preparation of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates; and WHEREAS, the ENGINEER is qualified and willing to do said engineering work and prepare said plans, specifications and cost estimates. NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants, promises and agreements herein set forth, the parties do hereby agree as follows: a. Prepare conceptual design recommendations on the signal interconnect for First Street and Stanley Boulevard. b. Design the signal interconnect from First Street and Stanley Boulevard to the City Hall. The interconnect shall connect the traffic signals at the intersections of Stanley Boulevard and California Avenue, First Street and Stanley Boulevard, First Street and Ray Street and Vineyard Avenue, First Street and Neal Street, First Street and Barhal Avenue, Sunel Boulevard and Mission Drive, and Main Street and Rose Avenue and Neal Street. c. Design traffic monitoring detection systems at the intersection of First Street and Ray Street and Vineyard Avenue and the intersection of Main Street and Rose Avenue and Neal Street. d. Produce a.m., p.m., and mid-day initial coordination timing plans for First Street and Stanley Boulevard from Valley Avenue to Mission Drive, based on a~vailable traffic data. e. Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and contract documents and provide general assistance to CITY in preparing contract for traffic signal interconnect. f. The plans shall be prepared in accordance with CITY standards and tO the satisfaction of the CITY. Included in the final plans will be a title sheet, interconnect plan sheets, and monitoring detection plan sheet, and other sheets as required. ENGINEER shall prepare a detailed engineer's estimate for the improvements. g. ENGINEER shall be available for a pre-bid conference and during bidding to answer technical questions, prepare any technical addends and analyze bids. ENGINEER shall be available during project construction for inspection services at standard hourly rates. -1-
