4 <br />THE CITY Of <br />-~ ~ -- ~" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />j'L~E~S~4NTONo <br />June 3, 2008 <br />Assistant City Manager <br />TITLE: RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND <br />URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD) NATIONAL CALL TO ACTION FOR <br />AFFORDABLE HOUSING THROUGH REGULATORY REFORM <br />SUMMARY <br />The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) "National Call to <br />Action" is a campaign designed to enlist states, local communities, and affordable <br />housing advocacy groups across the nation to commit to producing affordable housing <br />through public participation in a national network for regulatory reform. The City of <br />Pleasanton is already engaged in a variety of activities that are consistent with HUD's <br />campaign. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Accept HUD's National Call to Action by approving the attached draft resolution and <br />directing that the City Manager forward the attached letter to the HUD Secretary. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />The acceptance of HUD's National Call to Action would not have any direct fiscal impact <br />on the City. <br />
