For the two police clerks, and one supervising police <br /> clerk currently enrolled in the Public Employees' <br /> Retirement System's "public safety retirement program," <br /> the City shall pay their contribution to PERS. The <br /> amount of said City payment shall equal but not exceed <br /> nine percent (9%) of the employee's compensaiton subject <br /> to retirement contribution. In recognition of this <br /> higher contribution by the City, the base monthly <br /> salaries paid these three employees, effective March 1, <br /> 1986 shall be adjusted to provide the following: <br /> <br /> Police Clerks (2) $2261 <br /> Supv. Pol. Clerk (1) $2604 <br /> <br /> Section 16. Uniforms <br /> <br /> The City shall provide all necessary safety and <br /> protective clothing, as defined by the City Manager. The <br /> City shall provide fifty-percent (50%) of the initial <br /> purchase price of uniforms for those Police Department <br /> employees required to wear a prescribed uniform. <br /> <br /> 16.1 Uniform Allowance <br /> <br /> Effective March 1, 1986, the annual uniform allowance <br /> paid to employees in the classification of property and <br /> evidence technician (police), senior office assistant <br /> (police), police clerk and supervising police clerk shall <br /> be two hundred twenty-five dollars ($225.00) per year. <br /> Also, effective March 1, 1986 the annual uniform <br /> allowance paid employees in the classifications of senior <br /> animal control officer, fire inspector, and chemical <br /> specialist (fire) shall be two hundred fifty dollars <br /> ($250.00) per year shall be paid in one payment in April. <br /> <br />16.2 Reimbursement for Damaged or Destroyed Personal Clothing <br /> <br /> Exclusive of normal wear and tear, the city will <br /> reimburse employees for the reasonable repair or <br /> replacement of their personal clothing seriously damaged <br /> or destroyed in the performance of assigned duties; <br /> provided, however, no such reimbursement shall be made if <br /> the article(s) of clothing damaged or destroyed is <br /> inappropriate for the workplace; damaged or destroyed as <br /> a result of the improper performance of the assigned <br /> work; damaged or destroyed as a result of an industrial <br /> injury the latter reimbursable under the city worker's <br /> compensation insurance program. <br /> <br /> -22- <br /> <br />MOUPCEA20/g <br /> <br /> <br />
