CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 86-172 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION DIRECTING STAFF TO NOTIFY THE PUBLIC <br /> UTILITIES COMMISSION OF THE PUBLIC CONTROVERSY OVER THE <br /> PROPOSED PG&E TOWER AND TRANSMISSION LINE PROJECT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, at its meeting of April 15, 1986, the Director of <br /> Planning and Community Development presented a report <br /> (IR 86:29) regarding an update on the status of the PG&E <br /> transmission lines; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, many citizens addressed the Council with their concerns <br /> regarding the aesthetic, economic and environmental <br /> effects of the proposed project; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1: Council hereby directs staff to notify the Public <br /> Utilities Commission that the PG&E tower and <br /> transmission line project will have a significant effect <br /> upon the environment of Pleasanton aesthetically and <br /> economically, and that the project has generated <br /> substantial public controversy over the environmental <br /> effects. <br /> <br /> Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED APRIL 15, 1986 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmembers - Butler, Mohr, Wood and Mayor Brandes <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilmember Mercer <br /> ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> ATTEST: BRA S] <br /> F <br />james R.
