sweeping, the exact time and place may not be able to be <br /> described with particularity and Contractor agrees to <br /> use his best efforts to conform the necessary additional <br /> sweeping to the cleanup purpose for which the additional <br /> sweeping has been requested. <br /> <br /> (2) The Contractor agrees to respond to emergency <br /> calls for street sweeping from the Director, the Police <br /> Chief, the Fire Chief, and any of their designees. The <br /> Contractor shall accept, and respond to, emergency calls <br /> at any and all times during the day and night every day <br /> during the term of this Agreement. Response time for <br /> emergency calls shall be no more than two (2) hours. <br /> <br /> f. Within sixty (60) days of the execution of this <br />Agreement, the contractor shall develop its own sweeping <br />schedule designed to meet the above requirements for all <br />areas required to be swept. The sweeping schedule shall be <br />submitted to the Director as shall any subsequent change of <br />sweeping schedule. <br /> <br /> g. When inclement weather or the observance of a <br />holiday prevents adherence to the regular sweeping schedule, <br />the area so affected shall be swept within the followinq one <br />week period from the date of the scheduled sweeping, if <br />possible, without interruption of the regular sweeping <br />schedule and without additional charge. <br /> <br />4. Manner of Performance. <br /> <br /> a. Clean Condition Required. Areas to be swept shall <br />be swept by use of a mechanical street sweeper satisfactory <br />to the Director such that upon completion curbs, gutters, and <br />other areas required to be swept are left in a clean <br />condition. <br /> <br /> (1) A "clean condition" shall be defined as the <br /> absence of residue in the streets and gutters upon the <br /> completion of the sweeping operation. <br /> <br /> (2) Pre-sweeping large objects and debris (e.g. <br /> manually or otherwise removing for disposal) shall be <br /> done for all objects and debris incapable of being swept <br /> by the mechanical street sweeper. <br /> <br /> (3) The mechanical street sweeper shall be <br /> operated within the speed range recommended by its <br /> manufacturer for proper sweeping, but in no event shall <br /> it be operated in a manner so as to leave an area in an <br /> unclean condition. <br /> <br /> (4) Sweeping shall include as many repeated passes <br /> as necessary to leave the swept area in a clean <br /> condition. <br /> <br /> - 3 - <br /> <br /> <br />
