CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF PLEASANTON TO <br /> CONSTRUCT, DEVELOP OR ACQUIRE UP TO 220 UNITS OF <br /> LOW-INCOME SENIOR CITIZEN HOUSING <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton desires to construct, develop or <br /> acquire up to 220 units of low-income senior citizen <br /> housing in the City of Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, California Constitution Article XXXIV, Section 1 <br /> requires voter approval of any City low-income housing <br /> project developed, constructed or acquired by the City; <br /> and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to call for the said election <br /> pursuant Election Code Section 4017; <br /> <br />THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DO HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Authorization. The City of Pleasanton or its agent <br /> may construct, develop, or acquire up to 220 units of <br /> low-income senior citizen housing in the City of <br /> Pleasanton. <br /> <br />Section 2: Savings Clause. The intent of this initiative is to <br /> comply with California Constitution Article XXXIV, <br /> Section 1. If any section, part, clause, form, word or <br /> phrase hereof is for any reason held to be invalid, the <br /> remaining provisions of this act shall remain in full <br /> force and effect and shall be interpreted to serve the <br /> intent of this ballot proposition. <br /> <br />Section 3: If approved by a majority of the voters, this <br /> ordinance shall be considered as adopted upon the date <br /> that the vote is declared by the City Council and shall <br /> go into effect ten days after that date as provided in <br /> Election Code Section 4013. <br /> <br />APPROVED by the following vote of the People on June 3, 1986. <br /> <br /> <br />
