CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 86-88 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION SUBMITTING AN INITIATIVE ORDINANCE TO THE <br /> VOTERS OF PLEASANTON CONCERNING APPROVAL OF THE <br /> DEVELOPMENT OF LOW-INCOME SENIOR CITIZEN HOUSING <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Call for Special Election. Pursuant to California <br /> Constitution Article XXXIV, the City Council is required <br /> to present to local voters any low rent housing project <br /> developed or constructed by the City. Pursuant to <br /> Elections Code Section 4017,. the City Council hereby <br /> establishes June 3, 1986 as the date for such an <br /> election. At said election, the voters of Pleasanton <br /> shall decide whether or not to adopt the proposed <br /> ordinance attached hereto. The Measure shall be <br /> designated as Measure C. <br /> <br />Section 2: Ballot Language. The ballot language shall be as <br /> follows: <br /> <br /> "Shall the ordinance approving construction of up to 220 <br /> low-income senior citizen housing units be adopted?" <br /> <br /> YES NO <br /> <br />Section 3: Submission of Ballot Arguments and Impartial <br /> Analysis. <br /> <br /> a. The City Council hereby establishes March 18, 1986 <br /> as the last day for submission of direct arguments <br /> for or against the proposed ordinance. <br /> <br /> b. The City Council hereby established March 28, 1986 <br /> as the last day for submission of rebuttal <br /> arguments for and against the proposed ordinance. <br /> <br /> c. Direct arguments shall not exceed 300 words and <br /> shall be signed by not more than five persons. <br /> <br /> d. Rebuttal arguments shall not exceed 250 words and <br /> shall be signed by not more than five persons. <br /> <br /> <br />
