8 <br />THE CITY OF <br />- -- ~ °~ °~ -~- ~"' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />j~L~E~S~4NTONo <br />May 20, 2008 <br />Fire Department <br />TITLE: RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE ABOVEGROUND PETROLEUM <br />STORAGE ACT GRANT <br />SUMMARY <br />The responsibility for the State of California's Aboveground Petroleum Storage Act grant <br />has been delegated to the Certified Unified Program Agency (CUPA). The state has <br />established a grant program to fund the first two years of the program. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the Livermore- <br />Pleasanton Fire Department to enter into a grant agreement with the State of California <br />for funding allocated for the APSA program. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />This grant will offset the cost of required start up activities which would otherwise be <br />funded by the general fund. <br />
