Box 520
Pleasanton, CA 94566
(925)931-5002
sboc ian@c i. p leasanton. ca. us
Revision 05/06/08

05/06/08
Steven,
Here is a revised quote for updating the current camera and switching capabilities within the
council chambers. This follows the same form and function as what you saw at the City of Dublin Council
Chambers. The new system will include smaller cameras with lower profile pan/tilt heads. The main
controller will give you all aspects of camera positioning along with full CCU (adjustment) capability. The
camera controller will also be programmed to control switching of the Extron router. A new character
generator is also quoted. Again, this is the same character generator you saw at Dublin. I am also including
a "Frame Sync" which will account for your current Extron Scan Converter and possible other video
sources to be added to the system.
Also included now is a new projector to replace your current unit. This projector is almost three
times brighter than the past projector and only a third of the original cost. It would still be good to knock
down the one fluorescent that is at the left of the screen. With that, you would not need to turn off the lights
during your presentations.
As an option, I am also quoting a second system that would use the new Sony widescreen
cameras. I refer to them as "widescreen" to indicate that you will still be able to broadcast over your normal
channels with these new cameras, but they are also capable of producing HD if you should choose to do
this in the future. You could even be recording HD onto some other device (i.e. computer for storage or
streaming) while still providing a standard (SD) widescreen output to air. These cameras have the pan and
tilt functionality already built in, so although more expensive than the cameras originally quoted, the
system in total is less money. The DXC-990's themselves are an overall better camera but these newer
widescreen cameras will give you a jump on what will soon be the standard.
Also included is a price quote for 5 LCD panels at the Dais. These would display any of the
computer sources or new document camera selected for the projector. These display would be placed on the
counter of the dais on articulating mounts that would allow them to be tilted so that they would not interfere
with the line of site for both council members or audience. There would be a single cable run from the
production room with a distribution amplifier mounted under the counter at the dais. Adequate electrical
would be required for these units and it might make sense to supply additional outlets for any future needs
as well. I believe four fourplexes, equally distributed under the counter would be best.
I've denoted any changes, additions or price increases from the previous quote in bold. Please feel
free to give ma a call with any questions you may have at (408) 605-4145. The itemized pricing and related
install cost are quoted as follows:
3) Sony DXC-990 3 ''/2" CCD Color Camera Head $3,628. $ 10,884.
3) Fujinon S16x7.3BMD 16:1 Remote Control Lens (7.3-117mm) 3,159. 9,477.
1) AMX NXP-PLV new PosiTrak Pilot Pan/Tilt Controller *(price increase) 4,701.
1) AMX NI-2100 new Main Frame Controller *(price increase) 1,110.
