Background <br />The Approval Process has been extremely thorough <br />- The approval process for our landscape plans started in October 2006 <br />• We spent months prior to submitting the plan to optimize the placement of all assets in <br />the overall design <br />• Prior to purchasing our home and again prior to submitting our landscape plan to our <br />homeowners assoGaUon, we checked with Pleasanton Planning to insure our plans met <br />city requirements <br />• Also, before purchasing our home, we reviewed all of our homeowners association <br />governing documents to insure nothing preduded building a guest home/pool house <br />- Vineyard Hill of Pleasanton Architecture Committee (VHOP AC) was very <br />thorough in their evaluation of our plan and took months to talk with all of our <br />neighbors and get their input and factor it into their recommendations <br />• We have made significant compromises to our original plans <br />- Our original plan was fora 1100 SQ FT, 15 ft high guest home <br />- We made can romises based on feedback from our neighbors and suggestions <br />from the VHOP AC <br />- We have put story poles up on 3 different occasions and provided visual <br />representations of the structure <br />Need <br />Guest Home/Pool House serves many purposes <br />- Pool House benefits including toilet/shower for use by guest <br />using pool and in BBQ area <br />- Extra space allows for more therapy equipment and therapeutic <br />play area -critical for development of our special needs child <br />- Extra living space also helps for guests spending extended time <br />-grandparents stay with us to help with special needs child <br />- Grandmother already living alone may eventually retire here <br />when she requires assistance <br />2 <br />
