December 27, 2007 <br />Dear Pleasanton Paratransit Service Rider: <br />Pleasanton Paratransit Service (PPS) is pleased to announce a new pilot service that may be of interest to <br />you. The Downtown Route will be a same-day fixed route transit service that will operate throughout <br />downtown Pleasanton connecting senior housing complexes to the Main Street area, anchored by the <br />Safeway and Raleys shopping centers. The Downtown Route service will begin on January 14, 2008. <br />It will be operated and funded by the City of Pleasanton as part of the PPS program. <br />Registered PPS riders will be able to access the new pilot service at any of the Downtown Route stops <br />and ride all day for one (1) low fare. <br />The Downtown Route stops will include: <br />• Ridge View Commons <br />• Deer Ridge Apartments <br />• Gardens at Ironwood <br />• Pleasanton Gardens <br />• Kottinger Place <br />• Stanley Junction <br />• Vineyard and Hacienda Mobile Home Parks <br />A detailed map of the Downtown Route stops and a route schedule are included for your review. <br />If riders wish to connect to Wheels fixed route buses to travel to BART, Stoneridge Shopping Mall and <br />other popular destinations, remember that Wheels allows passengers 65 plus to travel free between the <br />hours of 9:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday -Friday. Additionally, PPS riders with a Wheels ADA card ride <br />free anytime. <br />The Downtown Route mini-bus will run Monday -Thursday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm with no <br />reservations required with the exception of holidays. The Downtown Route fare will be $1.25 for all <br />day service. If you are not already a registered PPS rider, please call the PPS Office at (925) 931-5376 <br />to get a registration form. Downtown Route tickets will be sold at the Pleasanton Senior Center, 5353 <br />Sunol Blvd., CA 94566. Remember, the PPS Driver cannot take money on the bus. <br />I have enclosed a complimentary PPS Downtown Route ticket for your use in the next six (6) months, <br />as well as your Downtown Route Identification Card. Your PPS ID # will be provided to you at the time <br />of future ticket purchases.
