RESOLUTION NO. 08-185 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, APPROVING A PLAN FOR THE USE OF PROPOSITION 16 TRANSPORTATION FUNDS WHEREAS, in November 2006, California voters approved State Proposition 1 B which provides $19.925 billion in bond funds for various transportation projects, including $2 billion for cities and counties to fund the maintenance and improvement of local transportation facilities; and WHEREAS, additional legislation allocated $550 million to cities and $400 million to counties, with the City of Pleasanton eligible to receive $1,105,877.36 through the State of California Department of Finance; and WHEREAS, local agencies are required to approve a plan for use of Proposition 1 B funds and submit this plan to the California Department of Finance for disbursement of funds by the State; and WHEREAS, the Plan to be submitted by the City of Pleasanton includes 1) Foothill Road Widening from Bernal Avenue to Foothill Place (CIP No. 995019) for $308,000; 2) Annual Street Resurfacing (CIP No. 095003) for $400,000; 3) Annual Street Resurfacing (CIP No. 105003) for $397,877,36; and WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton must expend all Proposition 1 B funds before June 30, 2011; and WHEREAS, the above-identified projects are included in the City of Pleasanton Capital Improvement Program Budget for Fiscal Years 2007/2008 through 2010/2011, as approved by the City Council at a regular meeting held on June 19, 2007. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: SECTION 1. Approves the plan for use of Proposition 1 B transportation funds as set forth above to be submitted to the California Department of Finance. SECTION 2. City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a regular meeting held on 15th day of April, 2008.
