RESOLUTION NO. 08-180 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, ESTABLISHING BAY-FRIENDLY LANDSCAPING REQUIREMENTS FOR CITY FUNDED PROJECTS, INCLUDING TRADITIONAL PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS, AND PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS WHEREAS, the Alameda County Waste Management Authority has adopted guidelines for the use of Waste Import Mitigation funding which encourage the use of its Bay-Friendly Landscape Guidelines program; and WHEREAS, the use of the Bay-Friendly Landscape Guidelines can have a significant positive effect on energy consumption, water and resource efficiency, and wildlife habitat and may result in significant cost savings over time; and WHEREAS, the Alameda County Waste Management Authority has agreed to invite the City to participate with any future Authority process conducted to revise the Bay-Friendly Guidelines, and WHEREAS, requiring City projects and public-private partnerships to incorporate the Bay Friendly Guidelines is appropriate for achieving its benefits. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: SECTION 1. Adopt the Bay-Friendly Landscape requirements (Exhibit A) as a means of incorporating the Alameda County Waste Management Authority Bay Friendly Landscape Guidelines with City landscape projects. SECTION 2. City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a regular meeting held on April 15, 2008.
