13 <br />THE CITY OF <br />-- ~~°i ° -'- "" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />j~L~£~S~NTONo <br />April 15, 2008 <br />Public Works Department <br />TITLE: APPROVAL OF REIMBURSEMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE <br />CITY AND AUSTIN BRIGGS INVESTMENT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION <br />OF THE ALVISO ADOBE COMMUNITY PARK ENTRANCE AND <br />PARKING LOT, AND ALLOCATING FUNDS FOR CONSULTANT <br />ENGINEERING SERVICES, CIP NO. 987025 <br />SUMMARY <br />Last year the City Council awarded the construction contract for the Alviso Adobe <br />Community Park (Alviso Adobe) project and approved a budget of $5,344,536 for <br />completion of the project. This budget included an estimated $365,000 to be set aside <br />for the Alviso Adobe parking lot construction. The proposed reimbursement agreement <br />between the City and Austin Briggs Investment in the amount of $305,109.91 provides <br />for the construction of the Alviso Adobe parking lot and appurtenant facilities. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Approve the attached Reimbursement Agreement between the City and Austin <br />Briggs Investment (Attachment 1) for the cost of construction and consulting <br />engineering services for the Alviso Adobe parking lot and appurtenant facilities in <br />the amount of $305,109.91. <br />2. Authorize the City Manager to sign the attached Reimbursement Agreement. <br />3. Authorize the use of funds from the approved Alviso Adobe budget (CIP 987025), <br />and authorize the Director of Public Works to use up to $60,000 for a <br />contingency amount for the project. This budget already includes $365,000 <br />earmarked for the work. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />Anticipated maintenance and operating costs are projected to be $5,000 per year. <br />
