CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 86-48 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION SETTING SCENARIO AND TIMETABLE TO ESTABLISH A <br /> DIRECTLY ELECTED MAYOR <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Attorney presented a report to Council (SR <br /> 86:45) setting forth the basic procedures and <br /> alternatives for having a directly elected Mayor in the <br /> City of Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of February 4, 1986, Council reviewed <br /> this report and after much discussion established a <br /> scenario and timetable for procedures to have a directly <br /> elected mayor; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The City Attorney is directed to bring back to the <br /> March 4, 1986 Council meeting materials necessary to <br /> call for a June 3, 1986 election for the voters to <br /> consider the direct election of mayor and the term of <br /> office of the mayor, if directly elected. <br /> <br />Section 2: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED FEBRUARY 4, 1986 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Mercer, Mohr and Wood <br />NOES: Councilmember Butler and Mayor Brandes <br />ABSENT: None ~~/<~ ~ <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />ATTEST: FR~K C.
