CONTRACT AMENDMENT COST ANALYSTS - VAWATION dASIS:.7une 30, 2006 <br />SAFETY FIRE PLAN FOR CIT1f OF PLEASANTON <br />Employer Number: 327 <br />t3errafit Deeviptlon: Sectlon 2154s, Pr+a-Retirement Optional Sattlamar>t 2 Death tiatefit <br />COVERAGE GROUP 74101 <br />Pre-Amendment <br />• Benefit not part of Contract Package. <br />• Benefit not part of Contrail Package. <br />Post-Amendment <br />• An empbyee's eligible sun+ivor may receive the Optlonal Settlement 2 Death ber>efit if the member dies <br />while actively empbyed, has attained at least age 50, and has at least 5 years of credited service (total <br />service across all CaIPERS empbyers and with certain other Retlrement Systems with whkh CaIPERS <br />has redprocity agreements). A CaIPERS member must be actively empbyed with the CaIPERS <br />employer providing this benefit to be eligible for this benefit. An eligible survivor means the surviving <br />spouse to whom the member was married at least one year before death. A member's survivor may <br />d~oose this benefit to Ileu of the Bask Death benefit or the 1957 Survivor benefit. <br />The Optbnal Settlement 2 Death benefit is a mouthy aibwance equal to the Service Retirement benefit <br />that the member would have received had the member elected Optional Settlement 2 and retlred on <br />the dabs of his or her death. (A retlree who eleils Optional Settlement 2 recehres an albwance that <br />has been reduced so that it will oorrtinue to be paid after his or her death bo a surviving benefldary.) <br />The allowance Is payable as bug as the surviving spouse Ihres, at whkh time >t is continued bo any <br />unmarried children under age 18.
