Attachment 3 ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY .COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AND THE CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM TO PROVIDE SECTION 21548 PRE-RETIREMENT OPTION 2W DEATH BENEFIT FOR LOCAL FIRE MEMBERS WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Pleasanton authorizes an amendment to the contract between the City Council of the City of Pleasanton and the Board of Administration of the California Public Employees' Retirement System; and NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That an amendment to the contract between the City Council of the City of Pleasanton and the Board of Administration, California Public Employees' Retirement System is hereby authorized, a copy of said amendment being attached hereto, marked Exhibit A, and by such reference made a part hereof as though herein set out in full. Section 2. The Mayor of the City Counal of the City of Pleasanton is hereby authorized, empowered, and directed to execute said amendment for and on behalf of said Agency. Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect May 17, 2008. Section 4. Prior to the expiration of thirty days from the passage thereof, a summary of this ordinance shall be published once within (15) days after its adoption in "The Valley Times," a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Pleasanton, and the complete ordinance shall be posted for ffteen (15) days in the City Clerk's office within fifteen (15) days after its adoption. The foregoing Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Pleasanton held on the 18"' day of March 2008 by the following vote.
