PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION N0. PC-87-93 RESOLUTION APPROVING SIGNAGE FOR PORSCHE/AUDI/VW AUTO DEALERSHIPS AS FILED UNDER CASE Z-87-352 WHEREAS, Robert Berkey has applied for design review approval for a comprehensive sign program for the automobile sales/service facility located at 4350 Rosewood Drive; and WHEREAS, zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit Development) C-C (Central Commercial) District; and WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of August 26, 1987, the Planning Commission considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits and recommendations of the City staff concerning this application; and WHEREAS, per the Planning Commission's previous policy, on-site signage should consist of one freestanding monument sign at the entrance driveway to the Audi/Porsche/VW dealership and one freestanding monument sign at the entrance driveway to the Lincoln Mercury/Merkur dealership. These signs should be similar to the size of the adjacent Val St:rough monument sign 6' x 12' and depict the dealership name and product type; and WHEREAS, in conjunction with the entrance, monument signs should be the wall mounted signs as proposed by the applicant. However, the Pleasanton copy on the Lincoln Mercury/Merkur dealership should be revised to depict the product types or dealership name, rather than just Pleasanton. NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approves Case Z-87-352, application for design review approval for the Porsche/Audi/VW automobile sales/service facility sign located at 4350 Rosewood Drive subject to the following conditions: 1. That the signage be substantially as shown on the site plan and elevation, Exhibit A, on file with the Planning Department. 2. That the applicant apply for and be issued all required City permits prior to installation of the sign. - 1 -
