PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION N0. PC-87-113
RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR
CONNOLLY DEVELOPMENT, INC.
WHEREAS, Connolly Development has applied for a conditional use
permit to operate an approximately 60,114 sq. ft.
supermarket within the Mission Park area retail complex
located in the area bounded by Sunol Boulevard, Junipero
Drive, and Mission Drive.
WHEREAS, zoning for the property is CN (Neighborhood Commercial)
District; and
WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of October 28,
1987, the Planning Commission considered all public
testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the
City staff concerning this application; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings:
A. That the proposed location of the conditional use
is in accordance with the objectives of the
Municipal Code and the purpose of the district in
which the site is located:
The proposed use is compatible with the other
permitted uses that would eventually occupy the
commercial complex. The use, in its proposed
location, would be compatible with the existing
surrounding residential and commercial/office
development. A supermarket operation will
contribute to the diversity of commercial uses in
the south part of the City.
B. That the proposed location of the conditional use
and the conditions under which it would be operated
or maintained will not be detrimental to the public
health, safety, or welfare, or be materially
injurious to the properties or improvements in the
vicinity:
As conditioned by the Design Review Board, the
proposed commercial complex and supermarket
operation should have an insignificant impact on
the properties and inhabitants of the surrounding
area.
C. That the proposed conditional use will comply with
each of the applicable provisions of the Municipal
Code.
- 1 -
