PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION N0. PC-87-26
RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING APPROVAL OF NOVEMBER 1986
TRAFFIC COUNTS
WHEREAS, in 1986 the City Council adopted standard assumptions
and methodologies for the conduct of traffic studies.
One of the requirements is for all traffic studies after
January 1 of any year to use updated "base case" traffic
volumes -- actual traffic on the City's streets the
preceding November. To this actual traffic, estimated
traffic from unoccupied buildings, those under
construction, those approved, and those from the
proposed project are added. To generate the "base case"
traffic volumes, accomplish this, each November average
daily and peak hour traffic volumes are counted
throughout the City. These counts form the basis for
the City's long term monitoring program as well as the
base data for site-specific traffic studies; and
WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of March 11, 1987,
the Planning Commission considered all public testimony,
relevant exhibits and recommendations of the City staff
concerning the proposed adoption of the November 1986
traffic counts as base for project-specific traffic
studies in 1987.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING CGMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Recommends the November 1986 Traffic Counts be used
for 1987 project-specific traffic studies as put forth
in the redistributed traffic scenario.
Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its passage and adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
PLEASANTON ON THE 11TH DAY OF MARCH 1987 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE:
AYES: Commissioners Berger, Hoyt, Innes, Michelotti and
Chairman Lindsey
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
DATE: March 11, 1987
- 1 -
