7
THE CITY OF
- -~- ~" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
j~L£~S~NTONo
April 1, 2008
Public Works Department
TITLE: REVIEW OF TRI-VALLEY TRANSPORTATION FEE AND DISCUSSION OF
FEE INCREASE
SUMMARY
The Tri-Valley Traffic Fee was implemented in 1998 to pay for eleven sub-regional
projects. The Tri-Valley Transportation Council oversees the collection of this fee and
implementation of the projects and is currently considering an update to the fee. This
updated fee would continue to fund the original eleven projects, as well as a new list of
projects. The City Council is being asked to recommend to the Council TVTC
representative proposed levels of the new TVTC fee.
RECOMMENDATION
1. Retain the local match of 20% for both the original TVTC projects and the new
proposed projects with priority given to the original projects.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
The Tri-Valley Transportation Fee is collected for every development project in the City
of Pleasanton. These fees go directly into the Tri-Valley Traffic Fee account for use on
the identified projects. A change in the fee will change the total fees collected. These
fees are used as a local match to regional grant applications.
