MINUTES <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />March 18, 2008 <br />1 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Hosterman called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Councilmember McGovern led the <br />Pledge of Allegiance. <br />Introductory Comments <br />Councilmember McGovern gave the following introductory comments: <br />• The City of Pleasanton Civic Arts Presents program features Grammy winner Bill Harley <br />on Thursday, March 20th at 7:30 p.m. at the Amador Theater. Tickets range from $8 to <br />$20 and the program is suitable for all age groups and can be purchased online at <br />www.civicartstickets.org, by calling the Amador Theater Box Office at 931-3444 or at the <br />the Amador Theater Box Office M-F between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. <br />Job seekers and employers--www.trivalleyiobs.com is the only website that exclusively <br />posts the available jobs in the Tri-Valley region, the site offers more than 100 jobs <br />weekly and is constantly updated by employers based in the Tri-Valley cities of Dublin, <br />Livermore, Pleasanton and San Ramon. <br />The Pleasanton Downtown Association has unveiled a new 'Downtown Pleasanton' gift <br />card. The cards are available in any denomination from $10 to $500, and are accepted <br />at more than 80 participating shops, galleries, restaurants, spas, and service companies <br />throughout Downtown Pleasanton. A complete list of participating merchants is available <br />on www.pleasantondowntown.net. You can purchase Downtown Pleasanton gift cards at <br />the Pleasanton Downtown Association office at 830 Main Street, Suite A, or at Towne <br />Center Books at 555 Main Street. <br />Roll Call <br />Present: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br />Absent: None <br />AGENDA AMENDMENTS <br />Mayor Hosterman said a Closed Session was scheduled immediately following the regular <br />agenda session regarding the Oak Grove property which is a placeholder to allow the Council to <br />hold discussion, should the Superior Court Judge make a final ruling which had not yet been <br />done. <br />CONSENT CALENDAR <br />Administrative Services <br />Approved regular meeting minutes of March 4, 2008 <br />2. Pursuant to Memorandum of Understanding between City and IAFF Local 1974 adopted <br />Resolution No. 08-175 declaring the intent to approve an amendment to the contract with <br />California Public Employees Retirement System to provide Section 21548 Pre-Retirement <br />Option 2W Death Benefit for Local Fire members and introduction of Ordinance No. 1973 <br />authorizing said contract amendment <br />
