THE CITY OF 1 6 <br />- -- ~ -'- ~"' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />PL£~1S~4NTONo <br />March 18, 2008 <br />City Manager <br />TITLE: REVIEW OF CITY'S STATE AND FEDERAL LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES <br />SUMMARY <br />This report provides information about the City's state and federal legislative priorities. <br />At the state level, Pleasanton will support the League of California Cities legislative <br />policies as outlined in this report. At the federal level, the Tri-Valley mayors recently <br />completed a lobbying trip to Washington D.C. where they met with lawmakers to <br />discuss regional legislative priorities. Staff and contracted lobbyists continue to monitor <br />legislative issues closely. Coordinated efforts to respond to relevant legislative topics <br />will continue as California's 2008 and the 2009 federal legislative sessions proceed. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the City Council review this report and provide feedback as <br />necessary. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this report. <br />
