CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 86-154 REVIEW OF BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT TO OLIVER DE SILVA INC., FOR CONSTRUCTION OF BERNAL AVENUE/FIRST STREET INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS, PROJECT NO. 86-01 WHEREAS, the City prepared plans and specifications for construction of the Bernal Avenue/First Street intersection improvements, Project No. 86-01; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Government Code Section 37900, et seq., the City Engineering Services Division advertised for bids regarding this project; and WHEREAS, bids were reviewed by the City Council on April 21, 1987; and WHEREAS, the bid of Oliver de Silva Inc., in the amount of $973,805.06 was determined to be the lowest responsible bid; and WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works and Utilities recommended that the bid of Oliver de Silva Inc. be accepted; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: The bid of Oliver de Silva Inc., in the amount of $973,805.06, for construction of the Bernal Avenue/First Street intersection improvements, Project No. 86-01, is hereby accepted by the City Council as the lowest responsible bid. Section 2: The Mayor is authorized to execute a contract with Oliver de Silva Inc. for the improvements specified above. Section 3: Approves the transfer of $13,000 from the Central Business District sanitary sewer replacement fund budgeted for 1986-87, to cover the cost of replacing two sanitary sewer mains within the project limits. Section 4: Appropriates an additional $52,000 to the Bernal Avenue/First Street Intersection Improvements Project No. 86-01 from the Resurfacing of Various City Streets CIP Budget, to cover the cost of construction surveying and soils testing plus a contingency. Section 5: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
