Councilmembers Thorne and McGovern volunteered to serve on the committee.
Councilmember McGovern confirmed with the City Manager that DSRSD uses their wastewater
and transfers it to the Daugherty/San Ramon Valley area and if the City wishes to use that water
for landscaping or domestic purposes, it has the right to it. Councilmember McGovern requested
review of the City's wastewater program.
MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL
In anticipation of litigation on Oak Grove on Friday, Councilmember Cook-Kallio voiced concern
that the Council will wait until March 4th to discuss what the Council will do, and suggested an
additional date to discuss the matter. City Attorney Roush said the item is scheduled for March
4 and it could be continued to a special meeting between March 4 and 7. He said the item could
not be continued on a Councilmember's own motion because of alegally-imposed deadline. If
the Council decides it is. going to put the matter to an election in June as opposed to rescinding
it, the Council would need to take action on the matter.
Councilmember McGovern questioned if the Judge could prolong it past the February 22"d
deadline, and City Attorney Roush said if the court is unable to make the decision, he would ask
that the restraining order be lifted so the Council is free to make a decision as to what it wants to
do.
The Council discussed possible election dates of June, November or the scheduling of a special
election, agreed that staff may be scheduling a time either between this date and March 7, or
between March 4 and 7, assuming the City receives the Judge's order.
COUNCIL REPORTS: None
ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:47 p.m.
Respe ully s bmitted,
Kar n Diaz ~~
City Clerk
City Council Minutes 9 February 19, 2008
