THE CITY OF <br />r ~'-_'~~ ~ ~ ~ -~- '-"' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />j'L~~S~4NTONo <br />March 4, 2008 <br />Public Works Department <br />TITLE: APPROVAL OF A CONSULTANT AGREEMENT WITH KIMLEY-HORN & <br />ASSOCIATES IN THE AMOUNT OF $111,684 TO PROVIDE DESIGN AND <br />ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR SANTA RITA ROAD AND VALLEY <br />AVENUE WIDENING IMPROVEMENTS, CIP NO. 975039 <br />SUMMARY <br />City Staff identified the need to contract with a civil engineering firm to complete the <br />design and preparation of construction documents for the subject project. Kimley-Horn <br />& Associates are supplementing City engineering staff by providing needed expertise <br />and additional engineering support for the design of the Santa Rita Road and Valley <br />Avenue Widening Improvements Project, CIP No. 975039. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Approve the contract with Kimley-Horn & Associates for a cost not-to-exceed <br />$111,684, to provide design and engineering services for the Santa Rita Road <br />and Valley Avenue Widening Improvement Project. <br />2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the attached subject contract. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />The subject project will improve traffic flow and no additional annual maintenance costs <br />are anticipated with these modifications. The engineering cost associated with the <br />contract with Kimley-Horn & Associates is $111,684 and funding will be provided from <br />the authorized project funds (see Attachment 2). <br />
