13 <br />THE CITY OF <br />-- ~ ~° ~ p, -~= '"' CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br />j~L£~S~4NTONo <br />February 19, 2008 <br />Public Works Department <br />TITLE: APPROVAL OF A CONSULTANT AGREEMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$390,000 WITH CAROLLO ENGINEERS TO PROVIDE ENGINEERING <br />AND RELATED SERVICES FOR THE WASTEWATER PUMPING <br />STATION PS #6 REPLACEMENT, CIP NO. 012027 <br />SUMMARY <br />Existing Sanitary Pump Station S-6 is currently in poor condition with capacity problems <br />and is in need of immediate replacement. To replace this specialized type of facility, a <br />consulting firm capable of performing wastewater pumping station renovation and design <br />must be obtained. Carollo Engineers has proposed to perform this work fora "not-to- <br />exceed" amount of $390,000. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Approve the attached professional design services agreement with Carollo <br />Engineers to provide engineering and project related services in the amount of <br />$390,000 for the subject project. <br />2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the subject contract. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />Beginning with the Capital Improvement Program budget of Fiscal Year 2001-02, <br />Council began setting aside money for the replacement of the Sanitary Pump Station S- <br />6. See Attachment 2 for a summary of project funding and expenses incurred to date. <br />The current budget balance is sufficient for the subject engineering and related <br />services. <br />
