Table 2 shows the other recommended changes to the Federal Map. These changes
are recommended in order to reflect changes in traffic patterns as Pleasanton
approaches build-out and to correct errors on the map. The reasoning for the change
for each of these roadways is briefly described below.
TABLE 2
Change From Minor Arterial to Collector
c+roo+ F rn m To
Del Valle Parkwa Hop and Road Main Street
West Las Positas Boulevard Santa Rita Road Boardwalk Street
Change From Local to Collector
c+~oo+ F rn m To
Andrews Drive Old Santa Rita Road Owens Drive
Busch Road Valle Avenue end of roadwa
Chabot Drive Owens Drive In lewood Drive
In lewood Drive Ho and Road Hacienda Drive
Koll Center Parkwa Valle Avenue Valle Avenue
La una Creek Lane West La oon Road Valle Avenue
Change From Local to Minor Arterial
Street From To
Valle Avenue Bernal Avenue La una Creek Lane
Both Del Valle Parkway and West Las Positas Boulevard are identified in the General
Plan as residential collector roadways. These two roadways provide access to local
roadways and land uses as well as provide access to the arterial roadway network.
These roadways were both identified as minor arterials on the map and need to be
reduced to collectors to be consistent with their function in the circulation network and
be in agreement with our General Plan.
Andrews, Busch, Chabot, Inglewood and Koll Center provide direct access to
commercial land use and provide connections to the arterial roadway system. These
have been misidentified as local roadways on the Federal Map. Each of these
roadways functions as collectors. Each roadway has speed zoning reports justifying the
speed limit currently posted above 25 mph. Changing the classification of these
roadways will not change the posted speed limit. The changes to the Federal Map will
make the map consistent with the General Plan.
Laguna Creek Lane and Valley Avenue are new roadways and need to be classified on
the Federal Map. Laguna Creek Lane provides a connection from the local roadway
system to Valley Avenue and functions as a collector roadway. There are no driveways
on this roadway. Valley Avenue has been designed and constructed to carry larger
volumes of traffic and provide connection along the southern end of the City. This
roadway functions as a minor arterial and needs to be changed on the Federal Map to
Page 4 of 5
