RESOLUTION NO.08-168 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AMENDING THE RECORDS RETENTION SCHEDULE WHEREAS, in order to manage the ever increasing volume of files and paperwork accumulated in the daily operation of a municipal government, it is necessary to periodically destroy obsolete records; and WHEREAS, an updated list of record titles and suggested retention periods for the City Clerk's Office has been prepared and reviewed by the appropriate staff and the City Attorney; and WHEREAS, at its meeting of February 5, 2008, the City Council reviewed the proposed changes. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: SECTION 1. That the retention periods for the records as set forth in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference be approved. SECTION 2. That at the expiration of the designated retention periods, those records due for destruction may be destroyed is accordance with Resolution No. 82-451, Established Procedures for the Disposition of City Records. SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution and enter it into the book of original resolutions. SECTION 4. That this resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at a regular meeting held on February 5, 2008.
