RESOLUTION NO.08-168 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, <br />AMENDING THE RECORDS RETENTION SCHEDULE <br />WHEREAS, in order to manage the ever increasing volume of files and paperwork <br />accumulated in the daily operation of a municipal government, it is necessary to periodically <br />destroy obsolete records; and <br />WHEREAS, an updated list of record titles and suggested retention periods for the City <br />Clerk's Office has been prepared and reviewed by the appropriate staff and the City Attorney; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of February 5, 2008, the City Council reviewed the proposed <br />changes. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br />SECTION 1. That the retention periods for the records as set forth in Exhibit "A", <br />attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference be approved. <br />SECTION 2. That at the expiration of the designated retention periods, those records <br />due for destruction may be destroyed is accordance with Resolution No. 82-451, Established <br />Procedures for the Disposition of City Records. <br />SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolution and enter <br />it into the book of original resolutions. <br />SECTION 4. That this resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage <br />and adoption. <br />PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Pleasanton at <br />a regular meeting held on February 5, 2008. <br />I, Karen Diaz, City Clerk of the City of Pleasanton, California, certify that the foregoing <br />resolution was adopted by the City Council at a regular meeting held on the 5th day of February <br />2008, by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br />Noes: None ~ ~ <br />Absent: None ~---~ ~ <br />Diaz, City <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br />Michael H.
