Total 3 year Cost Estimate $20,200
option 4. - Alter present trailer site by:

1. removing chain link fence, turning the trailer to place
windows toward the tennis courts;

2. remove the trailer wheels and place the module on a
pad;

3. add a sidewalk;

4. place the portable toilets in an attractive redwood
structure adjacent to the back of the trailer to assure
privacy and improve aesthetic value;

5. rent a storage box to place next to the tennis courts
to put equipment in.

Estimated Costs

Initial Costs:

Pad and Sidewalk $ 1,500
Move trailer, remove wheels 500
Structure around restrooms 1,500
Chain link fence & relocation 1,000
Awning 400

$ 4,900

Additional rental costs: $65 per month

Three year cost: $18,220

Analysis

Staff would very much like to provide good facilities, including
standard restrooms, to the park. However, none of the options
considered appear to offer a perfect interim solution to the
storage problem, provide additional office space, improve the
restroom situation, is relatively inexpensive and can be
implemented quickly. Therefore, staff supports Option 4 which
will require a modest budget amendment.

Park and Recreation Commission Action

The Park and Recreation Commission considered this matter at
their March 18th meeting. The Commission had already noted the
problems as identified by staff.

The Park and Recreation Commission adopted a motion recommending
that Council support the solution staff proposes to improve the
office/support facility situation at Pleasanton Tennis and
Community Park.

- 3 -
