CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 87-117 <br /> <br /> A RESOLUTION OF APPLICATION BY THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> REQUESTING THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION TO TAKE <br /> PROCEEDINGS FOR THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION NO. 118 (MARTIN <br /> AVENUE) PURSUANT TO THE CORTESE-KNOX LOCAL GOVERNMENT <br /> REORGANIZATION ACT OF 1985 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Pleasanton desires to initiate proceedings <br /> pursuant to the Cortese-Knox Local Government <br /> Reorganization Act of 1985, Division 3, commencing with <br /> Section 56000 of the California Government Code, for the <br /> annexation of Martin Avenue between Mohr Avenue and <br /> Trenery Drive, Annexation No. 118 and requests <br /> initiation of proceedings thereon; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the territory proposed to be annexed is uninhabited, and <br /> a description of the boundaries of the territory is set <br /> forth in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and by this <br /> reference incorporated herein; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this proposal is consistent with the sphere of influence <br /> of the affected city; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the reasons for this proposed annexation are as follows: <br /> <br /> The annexation would allow the public improvements on <br /> Martin Avenue adjacent to Tract 5445 to be within the <br /> City's jurisdiction. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: The Local Agency Formation Commission of Alameda <br /> County is hereby requested to take proceedings for the <br /> annexation of territory as described in Exhibit "A", <br /> according to the terms and conditions stated above and <br /> in the manner provided by the Cortese-Knox Local <br /> Government Reorganization Act of 1985. <br /> <br /> <br />
