Circulation Element <br />Program 14.2: Continue to monitor regional rail and high-speed rail plans and <br />consider impacts on and benefits for Pleasanton. <br />Program 14.3: Encourage a car-sharing service at the Pleasanton BART <br />stations if residential development is added to these areas. <br />Policy 15: Reduce the total number of average daily traffic trips throughout the city. <br />Program 15.1: Promote the use of transit, ridesharing, birycling, and walking <br />through the City's Transportation Coordinator. Increase bicycle <br />and pedestrian mode share by increasing public awareness of the <br />available bicycle and trail facilities and programs. <br />Program 15.2: Continue to provide incentives to City of Pleasanton employees <br />to participate in the pRide commute-alternatives program. <br />Program 15.3: Maximize transportation opportunities, enabling more people to <br />live close to their places of work, such as with transit-oriented <br />development (TOD). <br />Program 15.4: Pursue all potential funding sources for alternative <br />transportation. <br />Program 15.5: Encourage mass transit in the Tri-Valley area by a variety of <br />means, including private investment. <br />From Energy Element Program 15.6: Encourage the use of fuel-efficient buses within the city. <br />Policy 16: Reduce the percentage of average daily traffic trips taken during peak hours. <br />Program 16.1: Promote the use of flextime and other measures to employers <br />and employees through the City's Transportation Systems <br />Management (TSM) Ordinance. <br />Program 16.2: Encourage employers to allow employees to telecommute. <br />Policy 17: Support the continued and expanded operation of the Livermore Amador Valley <br />Transit Authority (LAVTA). <br />Program 17.1: Provide City representatives on the Livermore Amador Valley <br />Transit Authority Board and seek State funds to support local <br />transit. <br />Program 17.2: Work with the Livermore Amador Valley Transit Authority to <br />monitor bus ridership and adjust schedules and routes as <br />needed, and seek LAVTA input on new development. <br />Circulation Element 012908 clean 3-50 City Council 012908 <br />
