Accepted public improvements performed by Vanguard Construction for Annual Sidewalk <br />Maintenance, CIP No. 055012; authorized filing of a notice of completion, payment of <br />retention in the amount of $14,414.65; final payment in the amount of $2,901.35, and the <br />transfer of remaining project balance of $5,696 from CIP #055012 to CIP #075012 (Annual <br />Sidewalk Maintenance) <br />16. Accepted public improvements performed by SRP Company for replacement of existing <br />fence along the south side of Stoneridge Drive, east of Val Vista Park, CIP No. 058018; <br />authorized filing of a notice of completion, payment of retention in the amount of <br />$13,003.80, final payment in the amount of $630.80, and the transfer of surplus project <br />funds in the amount of $99,564.67 to the Miscellaneous CIP Fund (Fund 151) <br />17. Approved and authorized the Mayor to execute a Memorandum of Understanding between <br />the City of Pleasanton and the Alameda County Congestion Management Agency for the <br />expenditure of Tri-Valley Transportation funds on the I-580 High Occupancy Vehicle Lane <br />Project <br />18. Approved and authorized the City Manager to execute a consultant agreement with <br />Mosaic Associates in the amount of $183,323 to provide environmental and engineering <br />services for the Bernal Avenue Bridge at Arroyo Del Valle, CIP No. 995067 <br />Motion: It was m/s by Sullivan/Thorne to approve Consent Calendar as submitted and as noted. <br />Motion passed by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Councilmembers Cook-Kallio, McGovern, Sullivan, Thorne, Mayor Hosterman <br />Noes: None <br />Absent: None <br />Abstain: None <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br />19. Oaths of Office to newly appointed Committee and Commission members <br />Mayor Hosterman presented plaques in appreciation of service to: Gerald Hedstrom, Civic Arts <br />Commissioner. She noted Laura Olson, Human Services Commissioner and Ralph Sabille, <br />Economic Vitality Committee were not able to be present. <br />She welcomed new and re-appointed Commissioners: Alameda County Housing Commission <br />Christine Steiner; Civic Arts Commissioners Claudia Hess and John Laul (alternate); Human <br />Services Commissioners David Naegler, Teresa Rowlands and Don Wilson (alternate); Parks <br />and Recreation Commissioner Jerry Pentin; Youth Commissioner Joel Detwiler; and Economic <br />Vitality Committee members Chris Crabtree, John Mahoney, James Paxon, and Dave Weldon. <br />The City Clerk administered the oath of office. <br />20. Public Comment <br />Jeb Bing, Publisher/Editor of the Pleasanton Weekly, addressed the City Council, discussed the <br />5th Annual Holiday Fund, said 8non-profits have been selected as recipients for the community- <br />wide campaign, They raised $112,000 in direct contributions and matching funds with each non- <br />profit organization receiving $19,000 to help them continue their efforts this year.
