(Hunting Club on p. 2 of 2 and training for hunting. It says "An example of a site that is used for
training is the Bishop Ranch Park in San Ramon."
It is my understanding that there is potential hunting activity regarding hunting rabbits, quail,
and perhaps other small animals --- at least this is what the public is inferring from this staff
report --- at these sites.
We also received an email from a neighbor regarding concerns for potential hunting activity in
,Shadow Cliffs. I also received an email quoting the applicant that is the subject of the staff
report from the PBSCO January 2007 newsletter that said:
"MC: So you' 11 train her to hunt rabbits?
JH: Yes. She will learn to fly overhead at about 300 feet (if I do it, right) and my dog and I will flush rabbits for her.
When we aze successful, I'll blow a whistle which will alert her to quarry and she'll fly down and hit it hard, killing
it. That's the idea! "
There is an applicant for an animal use permit that the Planning Commission in Pleasanton is
supposed to hear tonight (but staff continued it) that has the section of the staff report regarding
Bishop Ranch Park. It mentions the California Hunting Club using Bishop Ranch Park as a
'training site for hunting.
If this is an error in the Narrative or if this organization is using this park and and are not
supposed to for hunting, Nelson Fialho can indicate to you their contact information.
Thank
Anne Fox
Matt Madison <Mmadison@ebparks.org> wrote:
'Dear Ms. Fox,
My name is Matt Madison and I am the Captain of the Police Operations Division at the
East Bay Regional Park District.
