305A.7 Other Inspections. In addition to the called inspections specified above, the <br />Building and Safety Official may make or require other inspections of construction work <br />to ascertain compliance with the provisions of this code the technical codes and other <br />laws which are enforced by the City of Pleasanton. <br />305A.8 Re-inspections. A re-inspection fee may be assessed for each inspection or re- <br />inspection when such portion of work for which inspection is called is not complete or <br />when inspections called for are not made. <br />This section is not to be interpreted as requiring re-inspection fees the first time a job is <br />rejected for failure to comply with the requirements of the technical codes, but as <br />controlling the practice of calling for inspections before the job is ready for such <br />inspection or re-inspection. <br />Re-inspection fees mad be assessed when the inspection record card is not posted or <br />otherwise available on the work site, the approved plans are not readily available to the <br />inspector, for failure to provide access on the date for which inspection is requested, or <br />for deviating from plans requiring the approval of the Building and Safety Official. <br />To obtain a re-inspection. the applicant shall first file an application therefor in writing <br />upon a form furnished for that purpose, and pay the re-inspection fee in accordance <br />with the Fees and Charge as set forth in the Pleasanton Municipal Code. In instances <br />where re-inspection fees have been assessed, additional inspection of the work will not <br />be performed until the required fees have been paid. <br />SECTION 306A -SPECIAL INSPECTIONS <br />306A.1 General. In addition to the inspections required by Section 305A.5, the owner <br />or the engineer or architect of record acting as the owner's agent shall employ one or <br />more special inspectors who shall provide inspections during construction as detailed in <br />Section 1704 of the building code. <br />EXCEPTION: The Building and Safety Official may waive the requirement or the <br />employment of a special inspector if the construction is of a minor nature. <br />SECTION 307A -STRUCTURAL OBSERVATION <br />Structural observation shall be provided when so designated by the architect or <br />engineer of record, or when such observation is specifically required by the Building <br />and Safety Official. <br />The owner shall employ the engineer or architect responsible for the structural design, <br />or another engineer or architect designated by the engineer or architect responsible for <br />the structural design, to perform structural observation as defined in this section. <br />Observed deficiencies shall be reported in writing to the owner's representative, special <br />inspector, contractor and the Building and Safety Official.
