CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 87-54 <br /> <br /> APPROVAL OF APPEAL OF A DECISION OF THE DESIGN REVIEW <br /> BOARD DENYING THE APPLICATION OF CENTURY 21 ACADEMY <br /> REALTORS FOR DESIGN REVIEW APPROVAL FOR AN AMENDMENT TO <br /> AN APPROVED SIGN PROGRAM TO INCREASE THE ALLOWABLE SIGN <br /> AREA FOR AN EXISTING REALTY OFFICE LOCATED AT 5677 <br /> GIBRALTAR DRIVE (AP-86-11) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on or about June 27, 1985, Merle Telford, owner of <br /> Academy Realtors, constructed signs for the shopping <br /> center at 5677 Gibraltar Drive; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Merle Telford applied to the Design Review Board for an <br /> amendment to the approved sign program for the shopping <br /> center at 5677 Gibraltar Drive; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of November 12, 1986, the Design Review <br /> Board denied the application; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, within the time specified by the Pleasanton Municipal <br /> Code, the applicant submitted an appeal to the City <br /> Clerk of the City of Pleasanton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of February 3, 1987, the City Council <br /> received a report from the Director of Planning and <br /> Community Development (SR 87:10) together with a copy of <br /> the Staff Report to the Design Review Board regarding <br /> this matter; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held at which time the <br /> applicant and any other member of the public was offered <br /> an opportunity to present evidence regarding this <br /> appeal; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1: Approves AP-86-11, appeal of a decision of the Design <br /> Review Board denying the application of Century 21 <br /> Academy Realtors for design review approval for an <br /> amendment to an approved sign program to increase the <br /> allowable sign area for an existing realty office <br /> located at 5677 Gibraltar Drive, with a five year <br /> amortization period from the date the non-conforming <br /> sign was installed. <br /> <br /> <br />
