CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 87-48 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING ADDITIONAL FIRE ENGINEER POSITIONS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the rank of Fire Engineer was established two years ago <br /> when the department was reorganized; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, since that time Pleasanton has gone through a number of <br /> changes which impact the major apparatus drivers <br /> requiring greater responsibilities from the <br /> driver/operators of the truck and engines; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Fire Chief presented a staff report (SR 87:36) to <br /> Council with recommendations for expanding the position <br /> of Fire Engineer; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> Section 1: Council authorizes the creation of six (6) Fire <br /> Engineer position on the staffed engines as well as the <br /> truck. <br /> <br /> Section 2: The Fire Chief is directed to conduct the necessary <br /> testing process to fill the positions by April 1, 1987 <br /> with the pay for the new positions to commence on the <br /> day of the appointment. <br /> <br /> Section 3: Approves a budget amendment for the Fire Department <br /> in the amount of $3,406 to compensate for this change. <br /> <br /> Section 4: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED FEBRUARY 3, 1987 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br /> AYES: Councilmembers - Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> ATTEST: <br /> KEnNEtH R.
