Whether to apply the limit to an Independent Expenditure Committee
making a contribution to a candidate or candidate's committee.
A voluntary campaign expenditure limit pledge may also be pursued. If considered, the
City Council should advise staff:
(a) Amount of the expenditure limit (e.g. $1 per registered voter, or some
other amount);
(b) Whether and how to notify the public about which candidates took the
pledge; and
(c) Whether the City should try to monitor compliance.
Finally, if a new campaign contribution reporting threshold is considered, the City
Council should advise staff:
I.
