PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION N0. 1436 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF <br />THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RECOMMENDING TO THE <br />CITY COUNCIL THE ADOPTION OF THE PROPOSED <br />REZONING OF THE 62 ACRES NORTH AND EAST OF <br />THE INTERSECTION OF SANTA RITA ROAD AND W. <br />LAS POSITAS BOULEVARD FROM PUD (PLANNED UNIT <br />DEVELOPMENT) DISTRICT ALLOWING INDUSTRIAL <br />PARK AND COMMERCIAL SERVICE USES TO 23 ACRES <br />OF P (PUBLIC AND INSTITUTIONAL) AND 39 ACRES <br />OF PUD ALLOWING OFFICE AND MULTIPLE RESIDENTIAL <br />USES. <br />WHEREAS, Anthony Morici and Va1leyMemorial Hospital have <br />initiated a zoning boundary amendment for approximately <br />62 acres of land located between West Las Positas <br />Boulevard, the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks, the <br />Tassajara Canal and Santa Rita Road from PUD (Planned <br />Unit Development) District, allowing Industrial Fark <br />and Commercial Service uses to P (Public and Insti- <br />tutional) District, RM-2500 (Multiple Residential) <br />District, and O (Office) District. <br />(WHEREAS, the applicant has prepared and submitted an environ- <br />mental impact report; and <br />WHEREAS, an examination of the Environmental Impact Report <br />reveals that there will be significant adverse effects <br />upon the environment caused by the development of this <br />project, the Planning Commission concludes for the <br />reasons set forth in Resolution No. 1435 that the <br />benefits which would be derived from locating a <br />hospital and related medical services on this site <br />would outweigh any detrimental effects upon said en- <br />vironment; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on this <br />request and reviewed pertinent maps, drawings, and <br />documents; and <br />
