PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1449 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF PLEASANTON RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL THE <br />ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE AMENDMENT WHICH WOULD WIDEN <br />THE PERMISSIBLE MAXIMUM WIDTH OF DRIVEWAYS IN RESI- <br />DENTIAL DISTRICTS AND WOULD ALLOW CORNER LOTS TO HAVE <br />MORE THAN ONE DRIVEWAY, SUBJECT TO CITY APPROVAL. <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has considered an amendment <br />to Sec. 2-9.17(e) of Article 16, Chpater 2, Title II <br />of the Ordinance Code of Pleasanton, which would <br />revise it in its entirety; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has held a public hearing on <br />this amendment and reviewed pertinent documents, maps <br />and testimony. <br />iNOW, THEREFORE, the Planning Commission resolves as follows: <br />(Section 1. Recommend to the City Council adoption of amendment <br />in its entirety of Sec. 2-9.17(e), Article 16, Chapter <br />2, Title II to read as follows: <br />e. In an R (Residential) District, a drive pro- <br />viding access to off-street parking spaces <br />shall not exceed twenty-four (24) feet in <br />width, and there shall be not more than one <br />(1) drive for each seventy (70) feet of <br />frontage except on corner lots. If more <br />than one drive is proposed on a corner lot, <br />the Superintendent of Streets may approve an <br />encroachment permit if he finds that the pro- <br />posal is consistent with the objectives of <br />this chapter and will not create an unsafe <br />condition for pedestrians and drivers. <br />(Section 2.
