PLANNING COMMISSION
CITY OF PLEASANTON
COUNTY OF ALAMEDA
STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION NO. 1.462
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF PLEASANTON RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY
COUNCIL THE ADOPTION OF AN ORDINANCE AMENDMENT
TO CONDITIONALLY ALLOW CHURCHES AND OTHER
RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS AND PUBLIC AND PRIVATE
SCHOOLS IN THE I-G (GENERAL INDUSTRIAL) DISTRICT.
fHEREAS, the Planning Commission initiated an amendment to
Sec. 2-7.21, Article 9, Chapter 2, Title II of the
Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton which would
allow "churches and other religious institutions" and
"public and private schools" as conditional uses in the
I-G (General Industrial) District; and
HEREAS, a public hearing on this application was held and
pertinent documents and testimony was reviewed, and
the following findings made:
A. That the presence of churches in an industrial
district would not necessarily conflict with
industrial uses with regard to traffic generation;
B. That schools as an ancillary use associated with
churches can be appropriate;
C. That sheltered workshops may be beneficial in
an industrial zoned area.
OW, THEREFORE, the Planning Commission of the City of Pleasanton
esolves as follows:
ection 1. The Planning Commission recommends to the City Council
that an amendment to the zoning chapter be adopted
which conditionally allows churches, convents,
monasteries, parish homes and other religious
