PLANNING COMMISSION
City of Pleasanton
RESOLUTION NO. 1394
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RECOMMENDING
TO THE CITY COUNCIL THE ADOPTION OF RZ-76-1
WHEREAS, the application of Ted Myers to rezone approxi-
mately 2.4 acres of land located between the Valley Plaza
commercial complex and the E1 Rancho Motel on the west side
of Santa Rita Road from A (Agricultural) District to C-C
(Central Commercial) District has come before this Commission;
and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has held a hearing on
this application and has examined pertinent maps, drawings and
documents; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission deliberated on the ap-
plication and evidence presented to it.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Planning Commission recommends that the
City Council adopt application RZ-76-1 for the following reasons:
1. The proposed change is in conformance with the General
Plan designation for this site.
2. Although the Planning Commission continues to be
concerned about development of commercial property
outside of the Central Business District, the pro-
posed rezoning seems appropriate as the site is on
Santa Rita Road, a major street, and located between
two parcels developed with commercial uses.
3. The existing zoning designation is A (Agricultural)
District, which is not consistent with the General
Plan and is neither workable nor convenient given
the surrounding uses.
Section 2. This resolution shall become effective immedi-
ately upon its passage and adoption.
