^~^ KimleyHom Supplemental WeekdayNVeekend Traffic Analysis -Final Report
lllll~ and Associates, inc. Home Depot, Pleasanton, CA
was assumed that project trips would principally originate from a three mile area
surrounding the project site. It was assumed that approximately 20% of the trips would
originate north of the project site, 45% of the trips would originate south of the project
site, and 35% of the trips would originate west of the project site. The intersections
most likely to be affected by a change in project traffic would include:
• Santa Rita Road & Valley Avenue
• Valley Avenue & Busch Road
• Stanley Boulevard & Valley Avenue / Bernal Avenue
• Bernal Avenue 8 Vineyard Avenue
• First Street & Vineyard Avenue
• Bernal Avenue & First Street / Sunol Boulevard
The intersections most likely to be affected were determined qualitatively and the level
of impact was not determined per the direction of city staff.
Weekend Project Trip Generation, Internal Capture, & Pass-by
Weekend trip generation was calculated for the proposed uses. The only change in use
proposed is an Orchard Supply Hardware instead of the Stanley Home Depot which is
based on ITE's Trip Generation Hardware/Paint Store land use (LU 816) and is shown
in Table 14.
Internal capture reductions for each use were calculated based on data published in
ITE's Trip Generation Handbook, 2nd Edition.
Pass-by trips were calculated based on data published in ITE's Trip Generation
Handbook, 2nd Edition which includes weekday PM information. Because no ITE data
was available for weekends; however, it is likely that some Saturday and Sunday trips
will also be pass-by trips, therefore, the PM rate was used for the weekend analysis.
The following pass-by rates were used in the analysis:
OSH
• Sat Pass-by Rate - 26%
• Sun Pass-by Rate - 26%
Pharmacy
• Sat Pass-by Rate - 49%
• Sun Pass-by Rate - 49%
Fast Food
• Sat Pass-by Rate - 50%
• Sun Pass-by Rate - 50%
Retail
• Sat Pass-by Rate - 34%
• Sun Pass-by Rate - 34%
PleasantonHomeDepot08.FinalReport.doc 24 October 16, 2ot)7
