^~^ KimleyHorn Supplemental Weekday/Weekend Traffic Analysis -Final Report
llt• and Associates, inc. Home Depot, Pleasanton, CA
For the uses with an AM pass-by rate of none, no AM pass-by was assumed in the
analysis because no ITE data was available; however, it is likely that some AM trips will
also be pass-by. The following pass-by rates were used in the calculations:
_._ __
Grocery Store
• AM Pass-by Rate -None
• PM Pass-by Rate - 36%
Fast Food with Drive Through
• AM Pass-by Rate - 49%
• PM Pass-by Rate - 50%
Pharmacy with Drive Through
• AM Pass-by Rate -None
• PM Pass-by Rate - 49%
Retail
• AM Pass-by Rate -None
• PM Pass-by Rate - 34%
Weekday Project Trip Distribution and Assignment
Because of the nature of the development, most customers to the uses including the
grocery store are expected to travel from nearby locations in Pleasanton.
A project distribution was developed based the proximity of other similar uses including
the locations of existing grocery stores in the area. It was assumed that project trips
would principally originate from a two mile area surrounding the project site. It was
assumed that approximately 20% of the trips would originate north of the project site,
40% of the trips would originate south of the project site, and 40% of the trips would
originate west of the project site. The intersections most likely to be affected by a
change in project traffic would include:
• Valley Avenue & Busch Road
• Stanley Boulevard & Valley Avenue / Bernal Avenue
• Bernal Avenue & Vineyard Avenue
• First Street & Vineyard Avenue
The intersections most likely to be affected were determined qualitatively and the level
of impact was not determined per the direction of city staff.
Weekend Project Trip Generation, Internal Capture, & Pass-by
Weekend trip generation was calculated for the proposed uses. The only change in
land use proposed is the grocery store instead of the Stanley Home Depot which is
based on ITE's Trip Generation Grocery Store land use (LU 850) and is shown in Table
12.
PleasantonHomeDepot08.FinalReport.doc 19 October 16, 2007
