§2-9.14 Historical Landmark. For purposebeoanthrealrticle <br />a historical landmark or monum~ructure, ruins, founda- <br />property such as a building, <br />tion, route, trail, place including but not limited to <br />a cave, oak grove, cemetery, burial ground, camp or <br />village area, or a natural configuration, geographic or <br />geological formation or feature which: <br />1. Are of particular historic, cultural, scenic or <br />aesthetic significance to the City of Pleasanton <br />and in which the broad cultural, political, <br />economic or social history of the nation, state <br />or community is reflected or exemplified; <br />2. Are identified with historic personages or with <br />important events in the main current of national, <br />state or local history; <br />3, Show evidence of habitation, activitiy of the <br />culture of prehistoric man; <br />4. Embody a distinguishing characteristic or an <br />architectural type valuable as representative of <br />a period style or method of construction; <br />Presents a work of a building, designer, artist, <br />5• <br />or architect whose individual genius influenced <br />his age. <br />6. Are imbued with traditional or legendary lore. <br />§2-9.15 Procedure. Any application hereunder shall first <br />be referred to the Historical Landmark Committee for a <br />report and recommendation if one has not a11~ade bested <br />made. In addition, the Committee may and, q <br />by the City Council shall, initiate studies of struc- <br />tures or sites within the City for possible inclusion <br />hereunder. <br />16 Standards. In classifying any historical landmark <br />§2-9. <br />or monument in an H-0 District the Planning and Counci <br />shall rely upon the following standards: <br />1. The landmark designated shall have historical, <br />aesthetic or special character or interest for <br />the general public and not be limited in interest <br />to a special group of persons. <br />2.
